Inception, directed by Christopher Nolan, is a mind-bending film that will play with your sense of reality. Dom Cobb (Leonardo DiCaprio) has figured out a way to get into people's dreams, alter them, and steal the victim's deepest secrets. Cobb gets an opportunity that will change his life for the better and has the ability to redo the messes he has made in the past. This opportunity, however, is to do what seems impossible: plant an idea into someone else's mind. Cobb and his friends go into the unknown to accomplish this, which seems impossible, task. With only one enemy, that no one can control, will they be able to accomplish inception?
This film is totally mind-bending and tricky in parts, but I really enjoyed it! I was scared going into it that I would get really confused and not be able to conquer "inception", but I was happily wrong! As complicated as this film is, the way the film was written and the way the actors act it out, makes it pretty easy to understand. Right on point for Christopher Nolan, however, there are some things that are left up to the viewer to decide how things work/are, which is an amazing directing choice that works so well for Nolan but also can make things complicated for viewers. I, for example, couldn't take not knowing things, and after the movie was over, I immediately Googled how other people viewed these "left to the viewer" parts, so I could really put the pieces together to find out what happened. But, Nolan's way of letting the viewers decide is something that makes his films incredible.
Leonardo DiCaprio, Cillian Murphey, Ellen Page, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and Tom Hardy, to name a few of the amazing cast, bring this film together in amazing ways! We all know DiCaprio, his amazing work, and his ability to connect with the audience through his movies, which makes him one of the best actors of his time! I could totally write an entire paragraph on how amazing Leonardo DiCaprio is at his job, but I'm sure you already know! Cillian Murphy, who plays the antagonist Fischer, is so great at playing the business guy and he has some really great scenes and character development. Ellen Page, who plays Ariadne, is great at playing the smart character who thinks fast and understands, to great depths, the danger of this mission. Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Tom Hardy, as well as many others, do a great job being the sidekicks who help this plan to motion.
Inception is such a great film that makes you think. Christopher Nolan must be a genius to be able to come up with this idea for a film! The layers that this film has, from the character development to the entire plot, Inception is a spectacular spectacle that will be critically acclaimed, by professionals and ordinary people alike, for many, many years.
Don't be intimidated by Inception, even though it will get complicated and make you think, it's one of the best films out today and everyone should accept the challenge and watch it!
