Innovations On Tap by Eric Schultz

Innovations On Tap by Eric Schultz is a collection of American innovation and entrepreneurship. Schultz brings the reader into a virtual barroom filled with American entrepreneurs from all different decades, backgrounds, and cities. In this barroom, the stories of entrepreneurs will amaze you and teach you so much about how the American business system has been built. From well-known entrepreneurs to the lesser-known, these stories will make you have so much respect for those that invented and innovated your past and present household objects and activities. You've heard of Eli Whitney and his cotton gin, but have you heard of John Merrick and how he gave thousands of underprivileged families much needed insurance? You've heard of Lin Manuel-Miranda and his musicals, but have you heard of Kate Cincotta and how she has helped give clean water to remote communities? All of these innovators, and more, are brought to light in Innovations On Tap and their stories will teach you so much about American history.

I'm gonna be honest, this book wasn't one that I had on my radar or would have picked up at the book store, but after I got a copy from a Goodreads giveaway, I thought I'd give it a read. And boy am I glad I did! I love history, and this book is filled with history, both modern and vintage! Innovations On Tap takes you beyond what any high school textbook ever does and will teach you about so many wonderful men and women.

Innovations On Tap is a sort of short-story book filled with little biographies about different men and women. I am positive that after reading this book, you will want to find out more about at least one of these entrepreneurs. For me, that was William Grimes, a runaway slave who became a published author. After reading the feats Grimes went through, I immediately put his autobiography, "Life of William Grimes, the Runaway Slave" on my "to read" list. Whether you're really into music, environment protection, or baseball (to name a few) there is a story here for you! Innovations On Tap is a great book to learn a little more about innovators, and through the snippets given in this book, you might find someone that you really admire.

Even though this book might seem boring or not interesting to you, I dare you to check it out! I'm sure you will find one story that you can connect with. And after reading this book, I feel like I know some pretty impressive facts about how businesses came to be that I can use to impress people with!

Check out Innovations On Tap by Eric Schultz and find a new innovator to look up to! And once you've read this book, comment below who's story stood out to you the most! And if you haven't read this book yet, comment below an entrepreneur that you admire!
